Slow, no air but pretty grisly
This is one of those with little glamour to it. Slow, no air and in what looks like pretty ordinary conditions. The impact is not good.
ski & snowboard crashes from the dark side
This is one of those with little glamour to it. Slow, no air and in what looks like pretty ordinary conditions. The impact is not good.
A few things about this one:
-shame it was not a better camera angle
-the audio reaction is somewhat understated
-where is this glamorous resort that is built on a slag heap?
Massive air and little to be done about it after launch but every chance that guy is lying in the snow thinking ‘wow, someone has to have caught that on cam.’
Huge air followed by a shocking landing – just needed a bit more speed and air time but those small margins…
“Go left dude and fast!”
Really great powder line and then bang, very, very wrong route. Impressive ability to find rocks in what is an untracked off-piste paradise .
This one is hard to call, it seems like a progressing snowboarder who wants to move on to the next level but wasn’t quite ready for it. The result of the indecision was a pretty heavy landing.
At some point during this road gap jump the rider must have realised the landing was going to be bad. Added to that were the numerous onlookers who saw this one coming.
This was likely to be the last jump for a while. This is definitely one of the ones that lacks any positives.
Light reprieve – this had to hurt but at least there was visible movement from the victim. The cameraman has a great time watching from the safety of the rear of the camcorder. The best thing about this one is that it is apparently the second day ever on skis for the ‘victim’. In that sense whilst there are harder impacts and bigger air out there if you calculated a skill/experience to impact ratio then this guy would be podium material. In the gloomy light I think you can even make out the denim ski pants – this guy is an absolute hero of ours.
This video crosses the line I am afraid – I cant even manage a wry smirk – it is a shocker. Skip it if you are faint hearted, it is a pretty bleak crash. The next one will be more uplifting – promise!
